Filter Nozzles, Strainers and Accessories for all of your Underdrain Needs

Orthos Liquid Systems, Inc. offers a full range of filter nozzles, strainers and accessories that can accommodate any filter nozzle underdrain design. With multiple design options such as material, mounting style, flow rate capacity and tailpipes for air scour, we are sure that Orthos Liquid Systems has a filter nozzle that will meet your filter nozzle requirements. Below is a brief description of typical filter nozzle underdrain types used for water treatment:

False plate underdrain: the simplest type of nozzle under drain design typically used in pressure vessels. The nozzles are fixed onto a false plate inside the vessel using various methods depending on the design requirements and limitations.

Header - lateral underdrain: the most common underdrain type also used primarily in pressure vessels, this design has a common header pipe going down the middle of the filter with a series of lateral pipes coming of the header. Our large selection of nozzle designs enable you to mount nozzles on lateral pipes using pipe saddles for open laterals or a combination using pipe saddles and concrete sleeves for embedded designs.

Monolithic filter Underdrain: this is our complete nozzle underdrain system that is typically used in municipal gravity filters for potable, wastewater and pretreatment systems. Based on the size and design specs we will design and provide all the nozzle components, formwork and most components required to construct this complete system on site by a licensed contractor. Once installed, the filter has a completely sealed concrete false floor that is designed to last. The nozzles installed are specifically designed per job to ensure optimal filter performance on all cycles.

Block underdrain: this design is typically used in open gravity filters; the block underdrain is a simple concept but is more labor intensive than the monolithic filter floor design. Unlike the monolithic floors where formwork is supplied along with the nozzles components, the block underdrain is supplied with only the nozzle components.

Tank internals: we also offer a full line of hub & lateral designs that can be used for both collection and distribution systems in smaller commercial sized applications such as swimming pool filters and water softeners.
