Monolithic Filter Floors
Choosing the Centurion Monolithic Underdrain will make a substantial difference in the performance and longevity of your filtration system. Our robust design offers a low maintenance and cost effective system that can be used in media gravity filters for conventional water treatment, wastewater tertiary filtration, membrane pretreatment, biologically active filtration, and denitrification.
Unlike the thermoplastic forms used by other manufacturers, GRC (glass reinforced cement) is a strong material that forms a complete bond with the concrete underdrain slab. Our GRC filter panels are easy to install and, when used with reinforcing steel, demonstrate a dramatic reduction in corrosion rates. With multiple panel types and sizes, we are able to accommodate any size filter for both new and retrofit installations.
In addition to the array of panels types and sizes, we also have a complete line of filter nozzles to help ensure system optimization on service, backwash, and air scour cycles. Unlike other manufacturers, we are able to select and customize a nozzle for the plant’s specific requirements and are not limited to a single nozzle type.
The monolithic design is a “cast in-situ” design that becomes part of the surrounding civil structure. Unlike other filter underdrain systems that are not a permanent part of the filter structure, there is negligible risk of degradation or structural failure that may lead to a premature filter overhaul.
